Artist of the month-Trust Company

Recently I sorted my CDs from by grade and pick up some single songs in order to edit a "Favorite Music List" in my computer.Suddenly,I glimpsed a familiar song title "Downfall". I started to retrieve my old memory about the song's melody and the band's style.Gosh!I will never forget that powerful voice and rumbling drumbeats. However, they are not as fame as some popular band such as Linkin Park or Metallica. So if you haven't know this band yet,you will be regretful

Trust company, which is formed in 1997,has four members-vocals and guitar player Kevin Palmer, another guitar player James Fukai, drummer Jason Singleton, and bass Eric Salter.Thier music genre is a kind of Hard Rock. After 7 years hardwork, they release their debut album "The Lonely Position of Neutral" in 2002,he album was well received with the lead single "Downfall" gaining heavy exposure through MTV. Subsequently, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 singles charts.

After their astonishing debut,Trust Company was scheduled to play at Ozzfest 2003 but was forced to back out by their label in order to work on their second album "True Parallels" which was belatedly released in 2005.Despite little promotion from their label, the album entered the Billboard album charts at #32, and has gone on to sell in excess of 200,000 copies. The first and only single from the album, "Stronger," made a moderate impact on mainstream rock radio.

The band has now expanded its touring to the east coast, with The Exies as the headlining act.Now let's take a look at thier MVs!

advantage of living in a dormitory

There are three advantages of living in the dormitory.

The first reason is our scholl's location.CGU is located between Taipei and Taoyuan country.CGU is surrounded by mountains and hills. For this reason, the traffic is inconvenient.Unless you drive to school with your parents or settle in the area where is near to the bus station, you have to waste much of time on communication everyday.Otherwise, you had better live in student's dormitory in order to attend class on time

The second main reason is the rent. The price of CGU's dormitory is cheap--$7800 per a semester, which is below the other school's average, and everything you buy in the school will recieve 10% discount.Besides, the facilities in the room are perfect and luxury comparing with other schools. You can enjoy your everday life in the school.

The third reason, which is the most important,is the interaction with schoolmates.By living in the dormitory, you surely have more time getting along with your classroom than living in your home. Many problems in homework or class course can be resoled by group discussion, and that will be faster and easier.

To sum up,although leaving away from your hom make you homesick, you can acquire many valuable experience more than you expect.

Brave swap out four prospects for Javier Vazquez

Brave's GM Frank Wren had been said that his ultimate goal in this winter is rebuilds the fracture arm depth and finds a powerful outfielder, and he make the first step this week.

The deal has been announced officially-Braves acquired RHP Javier Vazquez and LHP Boone Logan from the White Sox for catcher Tyler Flowers, infielder Brent Lillibridge, third baseman Jon Gilmore and LHP Santos Rodriguez. It seems that it's a nice trade for Brave though they lose the one of the top prospect Tyler Flowers.

"Big Game Javy" is a durable mid-rotation starter, good for 200 innings a year, and still young at 31.Some scouts ponits out that he has the potential to become a elite starter, but fail to meet the expectation. He sits 90-93 mph, bumping 94, without much movement. He works with three off-speed pitches -- slider, curve and changeup -- none plus, both breaking balls around average, the change slightly below, and has better control than command; his 59 unintentional walks this year actually his made up his highest total since his rookie year in 1998. However, his outstanding strikeout ability makes himself so attractive to Brave.Vazquez actually ranks ninth among active starters in strikeouts, 14th in innings pitched, 13th in fewest walks per nine innings, and 11th in home runs allowed. His arrival surely will give Brave a better reliable option.

Flowers, on the other hand, is going to produce offensively at the big-league level, possibly as soon as 2010.He has a very good eye and raw power, particularly to left and left-center. (His 17 home runs may not look impressive, but Myrtle Beach -- high Class A -- is a horrible place to hit.)Just in this month,Flowers crash the AFL pticher by 14 homeruns which is one shy to the AFL record and 1.074 ops.Unfortunatelly, his future seems cloudy just like former catcher prospect Jarrod Saltalammacchia due to the current backstop Brian McCann, who blocks on the homeplate and has proved his ability.

If Flowers reaches or comes near his ceiling, he alone is a good return on two years of Vazquez at a slightly below-market $11 million per year. But if Flowers can't catch or has too much trouble making contact at higher levels, the rest of the package isn't likely to make up for it.
